Donita was instrumental in creating the Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator role at the LMSC level, and was busy convincing the board of directors in the Pacific LMSC to begin considering adding this coordinator role. She suggested that her LMSC approve sanctions for swim meets at facilities that have gender-neutral bathrooms and has challenged clubs to find ways to be even more inclusive, even if they were showcasing exemplary ways to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
