U.S. Masters Swimming has cancelled the 2020 USMS Spring National Championship. The decision to cancel Spring Nationals, which was scheduled for April 23–26 in San Antonio, and was part of USMS's 50th anniversary celebration, was made jointly by USMS and the hosts of the meet, Northside ISD Aquatics and San Antonio Sports. All registrants were offered a refund.

U.S. Masters Swimming has also canceled the 2020 USMS Summer Nationals Championship in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. San Antonio and Richmond now plan to host the 2022 Spring and Summer Nationals, respectively, in 2022.

USMS will continue to focus on supporting clubs and coaches in their efforts to restart workouts as soon as appropriate, based on facility, local, state, and federal safety and social distancing guidelines. To help members return to competition, USMS plans to host several virtual events this summer and fall, including the first USMS virtual championship in August. More details on these events will be announced in June.
