CANCELED: Central IL Open Water Swim (CIOWS)

This is the 11th year for the Central Illinois Open Water Swim. The lake is in the middle of the state, an easy drive from Chicago or St. Louis and it's a day trip for many swimmers from states close to Illinois. Evergreen Lake is usually in perfect condition late June. The swim distances of 1.2 or 2.4 miles are designed to help triathletes prepare for full and half Iron Man competitions. The local masters swim club, CIMST, is experienced in hosting open water events.
