North Florida Swimming

Following the philosophy and teachings of North Florida Swimming, and the legendary Coach Mel Nash, we focus on stroke technique as the primary means of increasing speed in the water and preventing injury. This club is headed by Coach Katie Chiang, who has been swimming for 18 years (15 of those under Coach Mel) and coaching and teaching for 9 years (with a primary focus on stroke analysis and technique). With Bachelors’ in biomedical sciences and nursing, and 8 years of experience working in the medical field, Coach Katie has a solid foundation and understanding of the human body, its mechanics, and the effects of various health issues on performance (and how swimming can alleviate many of these problems and improve health and fitness). All skill levels welcome, as we tailor to each individual, creating personalized plans based on age, swimming experience, medical history, and fitness or competition goals.

Summer 2026 Practice Schedule (effective June 1st):
Mondays 6 - 7 PM
Tuesdays 6 - 7 AM
Wednesdays 6 - 7 PM
Thursdays 6 - 7 AM
Saturdays 9 - 10:30 AM
