Lincoln Masters and Others
This swim fitness program is for individuals age 18 and older who enjoy swimming in a structured program. The program benefits those who swim for fun and fitness, and those who swim for competition in swimming or triathlon. Whether you want to improve your swimming and stamina, training for a triathlon, wanting to compete, or just wanting to get back in the pool, there is a place for you. You will have access to a professional coaching staff who will help you perfect your stroke technique as well as offer new and challenging workouts to help you push your limits. Each class will work on various skills including: Stroke Technique, Endurance, Speed, and Strength Training.
COACH: The program is coached by Elizabeth Hefley, a certified Level II US Masters Swim Coach. PREREQUISITES: The only prerequisite is the ability to lap swim at least 10 laps continuous or complete the YMCA’s Sport Swimming and Stroke Refinement class with instructor permission. SCHEDULE: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 am—6:30 am TRIAL: We invite new participants to attend the program for one calendar week prior to registering for the program. Please contact the Downtown YMCA in advance to schedule the week trial.

Gold Club Designation
The Gold Club logo identifies Masters clubs and workout groups that provide members with the best Masters Swimming experience possible. Gold Clubs have a U.S. Masters Swimming–certified coach on staff, participate in fitness events, and offer a free trial to potential members, among many other benefits.
USMS Certified Coaches
The U.S. Masters Swimming–Certified Coach logo identifies clubs and workout groups where you can find a USMS-certified coach. These coaches have furthered their Masters coaching education and have passed the certification exam. Note: A certified coach might not be at all locations or workouts.
USMS Certified Adult Learn-to-Swim Instructors
The Certified Adult Learn-to-Swim Instructor logo identifies clubs and workout groups that have a U.S. Masters Swimming–certified ALTS instructor. These instructors have furthered their swim-lessons instruction education and have passed the certification exam. Note: A certified ALTS instructor might not be at all locations or workouts.
