All-American and All-Star in the 1990s

Jurgen Schmidt started Masters swimming in 1973, going to a National Long Course meet at Circle Campus in Chicago in August, 1973. He did well and was bitten by the swimming bug and has not stopped working out in the last 25 years. He swam for the Illinois Masters while residing in Illinois in 1984. On retirement, he moved to Irvine, Calif., and eventually to Lompoc, Calif., in 1989. He presently swims for the Ojai-Santa Barbara team. He has numerous USMS and FINA titles. He has been a member of the "All-American" Masters Swim Team and an "All-Star" in 1993 and 1994.
