I have known Donald J Kroeger for a number of years. We met when we were both members of Northwest Ohio Masters in approximately 1989. He now swims for Michigan Masters and I swim for GOST.

He is the immediate past president of Michigan Masters. He loves pentathlons, has a number of top ten showings, and I believe he was a Long Distance All-American for a year or more.

In Ohio and Michigan we had, at one time, many unsanctioned meets at various YMCA's. Don and his friend ,Tom Moyer, would go around to these meets and swim EVERY event!

Tom passed away about a year ago from cancer. This weekend, Nov. 19,2000, Don attended a little meet in Bucyrus, OH (drove quite a way to get there) and swam every event (about 18 events)! He did this to honor Tom's memory. They made an announcement of this at the meet after the break when Don shared this quest of his with others. I was very touched and I thought it was a good way for us ALL to remember Tom..
