Minnesota is proud to again host the 1999 USMS Long Course National Championships. In 1993, more than 70 National and World Records were set. Please read this information carefully and refer to the checklist on the entry form to avoid misunderstandings or problems regarding the conduct of the meet. All times listed are Central Standard Time.

Facility:
The Aquatic Center is an indoor facility with seating for 3,000 spectators and swimmers. The pool is 50 meters long with eight nine foot wide lanes and a water depth exceeding seven feet throughout the course. The facility includes a seven lane, 25 yard diving tank for continuous warm-up during the meet.

Travel/Airlines:
TravelCorp (Mary Jo: 1-800-829-7667 x210) is the official travel company for the meet. Special fares with Northwest & Delta and their affiliates. For Northwest, refer to World File # NMFLF. For Delta, refer to Delta File # 113005A. Northwest discount coupons (worth $25 - $75) are available through Mary Jo Ness at TravelCorp.

Meet Shuttle Service:
A shuttle service will be available between the hotels listed and the Aquatic Center. A schedule for the free shuttle will be available at registration. Several hotels may also provide private shuttle service to and from their location.

Parking:
Parking is limited near the aquatic facility. For hotel parking options, see information listed under hotels. Daily parking near the pool ranges from $5.00 - $12.50 per day. RV/Trailer parking is not permitted in any of these parking areas. Disabled parking permits are available (no charge) - contact Paul Windrath in advance.

Ground Transportation:
Transportation is available between the airport and the hotels by taxi, airport shuttle, and/or hotel shuttle. Airport Express (612-827-7777) provides service ($16.50 round trip, $10 one way) to the Radisson Hotel.

Meet Director/Referee:

General Meeting:
All swimmers, coaches, and officials should be represented at the general meeting at the Aquatic Center on Wednesday, August 18, at 7:00 pm. Matters pertinent to the operation and conduct of the meet will be discussed.

Coaches Meeting:
The Masters Aquatic Coaches Association will meet Friday evening @ 6:00 pm in the Wet Classroom. MACA will host a Coaches School on Wednesday (8/18) from 1-4 pm. 

Social Events:
Sign up in advance for the social events.

Thursday (8/19/99):
$ 6.00 per person (pasta buffet)

Saturday (8/21/99):
Barbecue Buffet $10.00 per person

Concessions, Vendors, Souvenir Items:
A snack bar will be open in the Lobby. Exhibitors and Merchants will offer merchandise in the spectator seating areas. Meet T-shirts and other merchandise will also be available.

Coaches Hospitality:
Coaches hospitality is available to all MACA/ASCA members. 

Cross the Mighty Mississippi Swim:
On Monday evening @ 5:30 pm, you can swim across the Mighty Mississippi River at Lake Pepin. For $30, you are bussed to and from the river, eat on its historic shores, and receive a Mighty Mississippi T-shirt. 40 people minimum required. Return to Aquatic Center by 10:00 pm. Advance sign-up is required before 7/15/99. 

Temperature and Climate:
Day time temperatures range from 60-90 with averages in the 70s. Overnight lows should be in the upper 50s and low 60s.
