Recipient: Jacki Allender
Year: 2022
LMSC: Oregon

Jacki Allender started officiating at Oregon Masters meets in 1997. She served on the Oregon Masters Swimming board of directors as the Officials Chair since 2004. Not only a reliable resource for Masters meet directors, Jacki literally ‘saved’ some meet directors by either stepping in to fill the meet referee position herself or finding another referee to do the job. A key member of the OR LMSC Board of Directors, she kept the BOD current on what was happening in the officials’ arena.

Jacki volunteered to do special officials clinics for Masters swimmers in Oregon. On the national level, she served as referee and in other key officials’ capacities at eleven Masters national championships. This included serving as the referee at both the 2008 and 2016 USMS Summer Nationals in Oregon. Jacki also served as the assistant administrative referee at the 2006 FINA World Masters championships and administrative referee at the 2013 Pan American Masters championships.

In addition to her volunteerism for Masters’ competitions, Jacki continued to serve as official for USA Swimming’s national competitions and served as an administrative official at the previous two US Olympic Trials.

Jacki had an accommodating and calm meet demeanor and demonstrated a total commitment to U.S. Masters Swimming as a long-time volunteer and contributor to Oregon Masters Swimming.
