U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award

Diane is a volunteer and advocate of Grand Strand Masters Swimming.  She was a SSL Foundation member for USMS from 2012-2015 and implemented the ALTS program at the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic Center, where she is employed as Assistant Director. Over 100 adults have participated in the program. At the NMBAC, she frequently interacts with members and promotes GSMS, inviting non-team members to visit and participate in Masters practices.  She and her staff also began offering a new pre-masters swim class to get people comfortable with practices before participating in the Masters team. At the LMSC level, Diane served as meet director of the SCY State Championships for 10 years and on the South Carolina LMSC Board as the Coaches Chair. She was one of the first 10 coaches within USMS to receive a Level 4 Coaching Certification and was awarded the Kerry O’Brien Coaching Award in 2011. She attends National Convention and has contributed articles to Swimmer Magazine.
