Nancy Ridout received the Capt. Ransom J. Arthur M.D. Award in 1994. Having joined Masters in 1972, she has been a dedicated volunteer at the club, LMSC, and national level. A member of Tamalpais Aquatic Masters since 1972, Nancy has been named USMS All-American every year and named PMS Swimmer of the Year on seven occasions. She has attended 35 National Championships and broken numerous national and world records.

For Pacific Masters Swimming, Nancy has served as registrar for 11 years and as Top Ten and Records Chair for 14 years. She also directs numerous PMS clinics and championship meets.

On the national level, Nancy served as USMS Secretary from 1986-1989 and as USMS Vice President from 1990-1993. She created and edited Places to Swim, a national directory for USMS teams and clubs. Nancy co-edited Watermarks, a newsletter for volunteers on the local and national level and also co-edited SWIM Magazine. She has served on six USMS committees since 1976, including her current position as chair of the USMS Marketing Committee
