Heidi served the Illinois LMSC as Vice Chair before taking on the position of Chair. She rejuvenated volunteer enthusiasm and recruited new board members and officers. She instituted new ideas after attending the USMS LMSC Chair conferences. Most prominent has been a LMSC sponsored and funded social, which has attracted over 200 members. Governance changes have occurred under Heidi’s leadership and the board adhered to monthly calls, timely distribution of agendas, and the publishing of minutes on the website. Heidi was recognized as well as a champion for diversity and inclusion and being ever on the lookout for intentional or unintentional biases within our LMSC.
