| Description: | The Ed Gaw Amelia Open Water Challenge is in its 12th year of existance. With Ed Gaws passion of swimming, he wanted to find a way to help under privledged children get involved in swimming/lessons. The money raised through this event makes this happen. There is a 1 and 3 mile swim that happens simultaneously. The swims run parallel to the beach about 50 to 100 yards off the coast. The water temperature usually runs around 78 degrees. |
