How to Locate a USMS Swimmer
USMS information on individual people is confidential except for that which is published. USMS publishes names and additional information for national officers and committee chairpersons, national committee members, and for LMSC officers and committee chairpersons. E-mail addresses are listed in these directories for people who have e-mail. There is also a searchable members directory into which any USMS member can enter his or her e-mail address.
The Top Ten Search facility provides some information for approximately 5000 swimmers who have made Top Ten since 1993. The Top Ten Search facility is not as up to date, however, as it's source database, the Top Ten index.
The Top Ten index is a list of approximately 5000 swimmers who have made Top Ten since 1993. They are listed by last name and by birthday. Information in these Top Ten indices includes city and state where the person lives, a two digit number representing LMSC (area of the U.S.), an alpha code usually 3 or 4 letters identifying their team (or club), and their sex (M or W).
Explanation of LMSC numeric codes and LMSC alpha codes are available, and there is a list of club codes on line, but it is not very accurate or official. A list of USMS Clubs Web Sites is available. A similar list of LMSC Web Sites is also available.
Information on swimmers who have ever been named All-Americans is available. This lists by name every person ever named All-American since the beginning in 1972.
