CHAMPIONS...Then and Now
HAM ANDERSON
In Midwest Intercollegiate competition, Ham Anderson swam to championships in the 220 freestyle & 100 yard backstroke. In 1974, he was champion in Masters Indoor competition in both the 500 & 1650 yard freestyle.
MILDRED ANDERSON 1974-'75-'76-'77, & 79
Mildred was a Masters All American in 1972 & 1973. She holds or has held records in the 100 & 200 yards, 100 & 200 meter breast, 100 & 200 fly, 400 yard IM, 200 back, 200 IM & 500 Free.
CINDY BAXTER
Cindy held National & Pacific Association records in 200 meter butterfly, 400 IM, 50 meter Breastroke as well as Master records in 100 yd Breastroke & 200 yard butterfly.
STEVE BAXTER
Steve was a member of the American National Team competing in Central America in 1973, South America in 1974, Japan in 1975 & Egypt in 1976. He was an All American during these same years in the 100 meter & 200 meter Fly in addition to being National Champion in the 100 meter fly in 1974-1975.
KARL FREDERICK
Karl was the 1948 Colorado State Champion in the 100 yard fly & holds many records in the Pacific Northwest Masters competitions.
JUNE KRAUSER
June Krauser swam competitively from age six until she was twenty. She was a National Champion in 1943 for the 220 yard breast. June has been an active AAU & Olympic swimming volunteer for over two decades.
JACK PEARES
Jack was All American in 1957, 1958, & 1960 as well as being ans NCAA Champion in 1958 in the 400 yard free relay. He went on to swim with U.S. Military Swim Team CISM in 1961 & 1962. He was Masters All American in 1978 in the 50 yard & 50 meter free, setting records in these events for the men's 40-44 age group & continued as an All American in 1979 in the 50 & 100 meter free competitions.
BERNA BENNETT
Berna swam for the Los Angeles Athletic Club during 1948-1952 & participated in the 1952 Olympic trials.
RICHARD BENNETT
Richard swam for both Dartmouth College & Stanford University.
JAMES C. BOHAN
James was an All American for the 100 & 200 yard backstroke in 1957 & 1958. He currently holds records in the National Masters(men age 40-44) in the 50 meter back, & Pacific Association Masters 50 meter back, 50 yards fly, & 50 meter yard back.
BOB BOYER
Bob was a National Champion in 1973, 1974, & 1977 competing in the 50 meter free. He holds or has held 200 meter free & held records at Claremont Men's College in the 100 & 200 meter free & the 200 meter fly.
JIM REILLY
Jim has been swimming for over fifty years & was a member of the team the held the record for the 400 yard indoor relay.
REG RICHARDSON
Reg held the record for the Far Western division in the 300 meter individual medley in 1933 & holds or has held many records in Masters men's age group 60-64.
DOROTHY LEONARD DONNELLY
Dorothy was a National Champion for the 220 yard free in 1939 & 1941, a member of the U.S. Olympic Team in 1940, & an All American in 1940-1941. Her masters record includes 1974 championships in short course 100 & 200 individual medley & the 100 back, establishing new records.
