The July Saturday morning broke with rumbling thunder, bolts of lightning and pelting rain. But that didn't matter. The "No Walls Gang" had a 7:00 am ocean workout and it was time to head for the beach. A brilliant sunrise began to wink at the eastern horizon and soon pushed away the clouds. Though the wind was still working its way to a low growl, it looked like the "No Walls Gang" would soon be in the water. Sure enough, Randy Nutt, Ernie Leskovitz, Dave Herman, Greg Langsett, and Dave Boudreau walked into the surf and for the next hour and a half fought waves and wind for a two mile ocean struggle. There are some calm and lovely mornings in the ocean, but this wasn't one of them. Somedays we can admire the critters swimming below us, but today we were one of the critters. As we staggered back onto the beach and slowly came back to our senses, Ernie said "Man, that was PURE MAGIC !
