Policy

The documents that guide and record the activities of the USMS History and Archives Committee are all posted in this web folder ("Committee"). They are many and not well organized. Barbara Dunbar will (if she agrees) begin organizing the most important pages this topic "Policy" (removing them from elsewhere in this folder).

Since Barbara does not yet have the ability to revise on-line documents, our way of doing this will be for Barbara to maintain the documents in word processing (with precisely the same names they will have on the web, max 12 letters, no spaces, upper/lower case is OK). To destroy a page, she should create an empty word processing file of the same name. Periodically, Barbara will send the word processing files to Carl and he will convert them to web pages. We look forward to Barbara being able to maintain the "Policy" section of our on-line archives herself as a result of the RFP to be issued in July.

Barbara, you can get a start on preparing pages for the web by "saving as" "text with line breaks" and sending them to me rather than word processing files.

As the most important documents are removed from other sections of this folder, we'll see ways or organizing other information and will reorganize the remaining pages. But top priority goes to those that will be appearing under "Policy".
