The Championship Committee selects hosts for national championship meets (winning bids may be awarded one to three years in advance of the meet) and serves in an advisory capacity to national championship hosts.

Introduction Letter

The Introduction Letter will aid meet directors in the bidding process, including planning and organizing their event.

National Championship Application

The National Championship Application (MS Word Format) needs to be filled out and submitted along with your bid packet to the Championship Committee Chair no later than July 1 (or the next business day if July 1 falls on a Sunday). Copies of the bid should also be sent to all Championship Committee members. The Championship Committee will make its selections approximately 30 days prior to the USAS Convention, typically held in September each year.

Pool Length Certification Form

The pool length certification must be on file with USMS. Please submit a copy with your application.

Sample Budget

A sample budget (PDF file) should be used as a guideline for your spending. Please note the bid packet includes a more helpful Excel version of a sample budget.

All groups/facilities interested in bidding should request a bid packet that includes more detailed information, including financial reports from prior nationals, etc. on hosting USMS National Championship meets. Please contact the Championship Chair via email or by phone at 240-464-3982 to request a bid packet.

At this time championship meets have been awarded through 2015. The Championship Committee will not be soliciting bids for 2016 until January 2014 at the earliest.
