Webmaster Job Description
- Manage the USMS server and Web site to enhance communications with USMS
membership;
- Create and maintain tools for USMS national office, USMS committees, LMSC
officers, and USMS officers to manage and utilize various data bases (e.g., Places to Swim, aliases, USMS records);
- Answer e-mails directed to the webmaster;
- Monitor web site for bandwidth problems, bad links, and inappropriate postings and implement any policies that USMS has established for its web site (e.g., privacy and discussion forum policies);
- Monitor web site usage and make recommendations for keeping user's response times
efficient;
- Maintain links to other swimming-related web sites or sponsors as directed by the Executive Committee or the Communications Committee;
- Prepare and post national championship meet on line entry forms, heat sheets, and results;
- Post national office newsletters;
- Post the pre-convention information packet and minutes of committee meetings;
- Post the USMS Rule Book annually;
- Make recommendations to the Communications Committee for improvements to the web site and server;
- Monitor our existing contract with our server and notify the appropriate person within USMS of any changes, developments or necessary information regarding that contract;
- Maintain the USMS official web site and update it as directed by the Communications Committee;
- Work with Legal Counsel on revisions to any legal policies or disclaimers as appropriate;
- Attend the annual USMS Convention; and
- Prepare and submit monthly reports to the USMS Executive Committee and chair of the Communications Committee
