Response to Questions

Why are you interested in this position and why do you believe you would be a good candidate?

I have keen knowledge of the nature of national operations of the corporation, having been on the BOD since 1990, Chair of the Convention committee since 1992, and manager of the third largest committee budget in USMS. I believe that I can help to manage and coordinate the national functions of the corporation.

What do you consider to be the major issues facing USMS now and in the future. As a person holding an elected position within USMS, how would you address these issues?

Growth, if it is to come, will be a test of our volunteer base and our ability as a group to not only manage large numbers of people, but accommodate them in training locales. I will stress the ongoing importance of reaching out to private, municipal, and institutional aquatic facilities to tout the benefit of USMS programs. I will also promote the notion of USMS actually owning or operating a training and competition facility.
