Joan Smith and her husband Richard are fixtures at the Pacific Masters LMSC meetings and meets.  Joan is always willing to help in whatever job is needed both at the local and national level.  She is a superb official.  She volunteers to help with Registration and Top Ten when needed and gives great help in determining the LMSC age group Swimmers of the Year.  It is notable that she continued to contribute her officiating skills, even though physically hindered, for years after it was painful to spend time on her feet.
