U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award

George joined Masters Swimming in 1975. He helped found Niagara Masters Swimming in 1978. Over the last forty years, George served in many capacities in the Niagara LMSC, most notably as the registrar and officials chair.  He was instrumental in saving the Empire State Games Masters Swimming competition, when he stepped up to become the organizer and the meet director for the event. He also served as co-meet director for the USMS Summer National meets in 1988 and 1994. In 1994, he was recognized for his effort and was awarded the USMS National Championship Meet Award. George also served the open water community by running a USMS Open Water Swim in Lake Ontario in the early 80’s. In 1987, George was awarded the John B. Skehan Award for his service as the LMSC’s top volunteer.
