Robert was a founding member of his local swim club, Flying Carp Swimming, and represented the team for 12 years in the Illinois LMSC. A long-serving member of the national organization, he contributed by serving on the Coaches Committee for eight years and was instrumental in developing the Coaches manual and the coaches web resources. Robert also served on the Long Distance Committee and maintained its awards inventory.
