A member of USMS since 1973, Sally volunteered in three different LMSCs. She served as both Secretary and Top Ten Tabulator for the Southern Pacific LMSC from 1974-1978. Moving north to the Pacific LMSC in 1978, she served on various committees and as a USMS convention delegate. She founded the Truckee-Tahoe Swim Team Masters, which eventually morphed into Sierra Nevada Masters. While living in Truckee, she also founded the Donner Lake Open Water Swim (1980) and the Truckee Winter SCY Meet (1981). Moving to the Pacific Northwest in 1997, Sally joined the PNA board and founded the Whidbey Masters Pentathlon (1998). On the national level, she attended the USMS convention from 1987 onward. She chaired the Ad Hoc Officials Committee (1990-1993), the Long Distance Committee (1994-2001), and was elected as the USMS Secretary in 2001.
